Job Title:Press Officer

Location:Lakeside, Cheadle

Salary:£35,000 + Bonus & Performance

Hours:Mon-Fri (9:00 am-17:30 pm)

The Role:

To support the creation, development and delivery of media communication strategies and deliver exceptional results in PR. Raising the profile of the company through the media and championing our people as thought leaders in the industry.

  • Develop and maintain strong media relationships for the benefit of the Group
  • Attain quality media coverage in targeted press
  • Manage and implement communications to the UK financial services media, both B2B and B2C, supporting the specialised lending markets that the Group operates within
  • Sell in stories to the National, trade, local and regional press promoting our Group and ensure effective and proactive communication of the brand, the company and its products
  • Proactively manage media relationships and promote and protect the Group’s brand(s)
  • Develop key spokespeople as thought leaders within our industry
  • Work with and support wider marketing department inclusing social media, content, comms and internal comms counterparts as appropriate
  • Own the PR plan, ensuring plans are communicate to the team, understood and delivered on time.
  • Support in the creation of monthly PR reports and communication to the business
  • Attend and inout into meetings with agencies (PR & Content), ensuring they’re adhering to contractual arranngements and optimising performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the strategy team to ensure PR plans are added into overall marketing plan
  • Deputise for PR manager when required

The Candidate:

  • Extensive media, journalism or public relations experience (2+ years)
  • A track record of successful PR in B2B and B2C marketing
  • Experience of devising, planning and delivering a wide range of PR campaigns
  • Possess excellent writing and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complicated products in an easily digestible way
  • Can work with and communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • Possess well developed project management skills
  • Determined, driven and ‘can do’ with the ability to make things happen
  • Results orientated
  • Experience in the financial services
  • Experience of using data to build creative and engaging PR
