Hitachi ABB Power Grids has an excellent opportunity for someone that is looking for a new challenge working for a global business. As Power Quality Area Manager, you will engage with our customers, promoting Hitachi ABB products in the marketplace and identifying & actioning any sales leads & opportunities to ensure successful sales. Liaising with the Hitachi ABB Power Grids internal Sales Team (FES), you will build bridges and communicate effectively to cover all sales prospects available. In this role, you will provide defined product sales & marketing for capacitor and filters in the South of England.

Your Responsibilities
  • Identify & action any sales leads & opportunities to ensure a successful sale; liaise with FES sales team to cover all sales prospects available.
  • Undertake surveys/discussions on client sites to identify all requirements and sales opportunities, ensuring that design is within Company capabilities.
  • Submit quotations in line with Hitachi ABB commercial procedures; pursue order process to ensure successful product delivery & excellent levels of customer service.
  • Present, discuss and negotiate Hitachi ABB’s value proposition with major stake holders, customers and consultants.
  • Support as necessary the Hitachi ABB’s Power Quality Strategic Customer Manager.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, factories & customers.
  • Carryout on-site commissioning of Low Voltage capacitors.
  • Undertake on-site after sales activities including reporting of comments and/or faults; arrange any remedial actions required.
  • Comply to all Hitachi ABB Health & Safety Procedures.
  • Report on market activities, including competitors.
  • Prepare & issue area monthly reports & forecasts.
  • Maintain an overview & support activity for colleagues during times of leave.
  • Maintain regular contact with colleagues providing training support & direction together with selling back up as required, enabling turnover maximisation within the region.
  • Comply and adhere to Hitachi ABB code of conduct, ethics and integrity.

Your background
  • Essential
  • Qualified to HNC/Degree level in Electrical Engineering discipline.

  • Teamwork & Collaboration – demonstrates ‘One ABB’ behaviors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Desirable
  • Advantageous to have knowledge of capacitors and harmonic filters.
  • Experience in control systems.
  • Ideally, experience of in other products and systems such as drives, motors, electrification products– from ABB and/or other suppliers.
