This role is to work within the South Wales and South West P&I planning team and progress on site works requested by the customer. Maximising your own skills will allow you to plan new jobs, working closely with all parties in order to improve planner throughput by being the focal point of on-site works from design through to RFI (Ready for Installation) and beyond.
You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities
You will be expected to liaise with the Field Engineering teams, Client Representatives, Suppliers and Contractors to create and progress new jobs through the unit. You will also be required to work on the A56 electrical testing programme ensuring ongoing compliance at all sites. Working with contractors, BT colleagues you will use your own experience to make cost savings where appropriate. A good deal of autonomy will allow bold decisions to be made to achieve results that benefit the business.
You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience
- You will be a qualified to BS7671 18th Edition.
- You will have a solid academic electrical or building services engineering background (BEng, HND, HNC), or the equivalent demonstrable work experience.
- You will have working knowledge of The Electricity at Work Act, The Health and Safety at Work Act
- A detailed working knowledge of BT’s power estate.
- Working knowledge of BT systems, these may include some or all of the following - SNAP, Advitium, AutoCAD, WFMT, Field Scheduler, PIRM, LLUMS, HASP, NoW, iBuy.
- Experience of working within an exchange environment specifically power/engine rooms and the equipment within. Experience of working with engines, generators, cooling plant and power distribution within our BT exchanges.
- Knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
- Knowledge of the A56 programme and its remit.
- An understanding of finance structures and reporting systems including iBuy.
- Comfortable in developing your expertise into emerging technology areas with minimal training.
- An understanding of network monitoring systems and implementation practices.
- Ability to deal with multiple competing suppliers.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex issues into simple explanations.
- Hold a full driving Licence
