About This Role

The Power Planning Manager (TMD) role is pivotal in the Mobile Deployment team reporting to the Build Lead. The role delivers power to support the delivery of key BT programmes in order to meet critical contractual deadlines.

The role will be responsible for delivering prime power across all programmes within the deployment team to meet with agreed and targeted timeframes. The role will require the technical ability to observe and comment on proposed prime power options that meet the demands of the sites in question within the project budgets agreed. The delivery controls will include management of all activities carried out by the SWC’s to complete the prime power delivery. Work with SWCs to direct and ensure scope implementation is accurate and timely. The role also reports progress against key deadlines to the Build Lead.

The TDM will manage and forecast the power delivery to align with the programme demands. In addition, the role will help manage the budget and financial forecasting for multiple power delivery plans, high-lighting and communicating over/under spend with correlation and alignment to delivery targets.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities
  • Identifies opportunities to resolve risks and issues relating to delivery of power.
  • Offer power expertise to monitor all actions and activities related to power delivery, from scope to delivery, to ensure adherence to time and budget constraints.
  • Identifies and implements ways to improve power delivery processes and service performances, providing suggestions and implements to achieve better results.
  • Manging onward power delivery where not a DNO connection the associated with a LLS/SS supply.
  • Partners with a range of internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues potential issues within power delivery, update on progress and achieve benefits.
  • Support in the chasing of WL requirements on DNO supplies liaising directly with DNO WLO and internal acquisition teams.
  • End to end power delivery management - overall accountability to ensure end to end delivery targets are met for delivery of power.
  • SWC/DNO management – working with key internal teams to manage SWC/DNO delivery targets, slippages, performance & quality issues to support delivery targets for multiple delivery plans.
  • Attendance on deep dive reviews across the programmer where requested to support on power related queries.
  • Completes where require feasibility study using DNO network maps to understand achievable power delivery options within budget.
  • Attend site meetings with DNO and/or acquisition agents where power is being discussed and agreed should the stakeholders require representation.
You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in successfully delivering power to sites on time and too budget.
  • Experience of reading DNO networks maps to understand if there is a viable solution acquisition can progress before site selection.
  • Evidence of successfully delivering multiple projects/programmes to strict deadlines and demonstrated ability to work with and report to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand mobile networks and the component parts necessary to deliver prime power to a robust network infrastructure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive internal and external stakeholders and SWCs so deadlines are met.
  • Experience dealing with a multitude of stakeholders in the community and within the business, demonstrating an ability to clearly explain key facts and persuade where necessary.
  • Aligned project plans and objectives with BT strategy and values.
  • Supported budget management and costs when cost is under pressure by challenging DNO quotations received or looking at other feasible options.
