This Cambridge based organisation is offering a superb set of benefits, along with the opportunity to work on some breakthrough novel technologies.

Initially on an 18-month fixed term contract, the Post-Doc Researcher will come from a Biochemistry background and be capable of the following:

Taking the next generation of fluorescent tags for biomedical applications to market
Providing a strong scientific contribution to the development of fluorescent nanoparticles
Develop microplate assays to simulate real world biomedical applications, focusing on assay surface chemistry, which will be used to evaluate the performance of fluorescent nanoparticles
Provide feedback on performance of the bio-functionalised nanoparticles to the wider development team to facilitate improvements.

About You:

PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biological Chemistry, Surface Chemistry or a related field, or a degree + experience
Ready to move your career into industrial research
Ability to communicate technical concepts to all audiences
Experience of surface immobilisation of biomolecules
Ideally some experience / understanding of one / some of the following:
- Oligonucleotide immobilisation
- Surface characterisation
- Fluorescence based assays
- Surface functionalisation of nanoparticles
