Reporting to the Programme Manager within the Programme Management (PMO) team, we’re looking for a dynamic, confident and highly motivated individual to support on both business and digital transformational programmes and projects driven by the aims and objects of the strategic Plan for North Lanarkshire.

You will provide hands-on support to programmes and projects and play a proactive knowledge management role in the promotion of programme and project methods and the roll-out of best management practice.

You will also provide a supporting service for programme managers and project leads, as well as, programme / project delivery boards, delivering hands-on assistance to support the successful delivery of programmes and projects. This may take the form of coaching, help, advice and guidance, reporting or may be of a specific nature in the form of facilitated workshops. An example of the support to be included would be: project co-ordination, facilitation of meetings, project start-up advice, risk analysis, data analysis, progress status reporting, project scoping, planning, and tailoring of methods to suit the projects, as well as specific project delivery tasks/activities etc.

Building strong relationships, providing clear communications and regular reporting/presenting to various governance boards will be a key aspect of this role. You will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as good IT skills, particularly in MS Office products.

You will have a flexible, positive and proactive attitude, be well-organised, pay attention to detail and be able to demonstrate capability of problem solving, developing and enhancing business processes. You will have the ability to cope with a demanding workload whilst maintaining high levels of quality, ensuring deadlines are met over a wide range of tasks and competing priorities.

You will have extended experience of programme/project support type activities within a project and/or team-based environment. You will have good working knowledge of project management principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management and recording of programme / projects and related activities through to the successful achievement of planned business benefits.

You must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development and be educated to degree/SVQ4/HND standard or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with experience of IT and project best practice approaches e.g. PPSO, Prince 2, ITIL, Management of Risk / Benefits, Change Management etc.

You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team who currently operate a hybrid working model of home-working and office-based working at the Civic Square offices in Motherwell.

Please note this is a temporary position until 30th June 2023. This could be extended further dependent on the requirements of the programmes and projects undertaken by Business Solutions.
