£35,000 - £41,000 + Benefits In order to maintain our client’s reputation for providing service and product excellence, a technically minded, hands-on Plant Service Engineer with a broad base of experience in servicing and maintaining petrol or diesel plant is required to join a leading, well established independent confined space safety equipment service provider with a long-standing reputation for providing the best confined space training, instruction in the use of breathing apparatus and face fit testing available. With a focus on technical troubleshooting and driving ongoing plant improvements, the successful Plant Service Engineer will ensure all plant machinery is operated as efficiently and safely as possible, whilst identifying opportunities for further improvement. Based within the Hire team at our client’s head office in Verwood Dorset, the successful candidate will service and repair machinery including diesel compressors, electric compressors and high-pressure air trailers. To ensure you’ll have all the support necessary to succeed in the role, the chosen candidate will receive full training to become a verified hydrostatic test engineer for cylinders. Key Responsibilities Play a leading role in the service, repair and maintenance of breathing apparatus, breathing air compressors and trailers, gas detection, and lifting equipment Deliver effective operational solutions for the Plant Hire team that prevent issue recurrence and ensure reliability Identify continuous improvement opportunities Support development of materials, tools and practices that will help to standardise work and drive improvement forward Support in all aspects of daily plant performanceSkills & Experience Experience in service repair of diesel and/or petrol plant, or relevant transferable skills from an allied industry e.g auto-trade Relevant qualification in Engineering or a similar discipline A strong track record of servicing and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment Clear, demonstrable understanding of safety aspects of a plant environment and the ability to implement safety standards Ability to resolve complex technical issues and lead solutions within plant manufacturing environments Strong analytical, creative problem-solving and project management skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organisation This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, skilled engineer to join an exciting, forward-thinking company with innovation at its core.
