Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s Development Management Team has a permanent vacancy for a full time Planning Technical Officer. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with a demonstrable interest in the planning process.
What’s the job?
Development Management are responsible for the determination of all planning applications within the Borough with the objective of securing continued housing and economic growth, regeneration and infrastructure improvements that respect and enhance the natural and built environment much of which is designated Green Belt and or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Technical Team plays a vital role in managing the administrative and technical elements of the planning application process and you will be involved at each stage.
Is this you?
You will be self-motivated and a team player, with excellent IT skills, well developed time/workload management and prioritising skills. Good written and verbal communication and influencing skills will also be evidenced. You’ll need excellent customer service skills and have a polite, tactful, diplomatic, and confident manner. Being able to communicate calmly and clearly under pressure is a must.
