HEINEKEN Planning Team Leader (Distribution) – EDINBURGH
Salary: £30k - £40k base plus package depending on experience plus competitive package

Here at HEINEKEN, within our Customer Service and Logistics team, the Team Leader role is critical in supporting and developing a team of planners to deliver product availability in a dynamic environment where deliveries are time sensitive – it’s all about prioritisation of work load.

This is a people management role, so as well as your analytical skills and ability to influence a variety of internal and external stakeholders, you will have a prime focus on getting the best out of your team and getting winning results through your people – meeting the targets of the business.

We’d like your leadership style to involve regular 1:1’s to understand colleague motivations and to feedback to them on their performance. With your background in planning, an understanding of 3PL relationships, and a drive and accountability to get things done – your role modelling and encouragement will inspire others to ensure that their actions are considered with a commercial focus, then owned. You’ll inspire the team with your positive focus, helping them adapt within a fast moving and dynamic environment.

You will always have an eye for detail, and an eye on the prize - maximising product availability whilst balancing cost.

How will it challenge you?

  • The role is very dynamic, one minute you could be doing detailed reporting, the next you could be supporting one of your team with some planning and next again you could be holding a service review with a major supplier.
  • As well as your immediate sub teams area, you will also be expected to learn what the full team does and step in to cover for the Third Party Planning Manager when required.
  • Your team is managing 3rd party drinks for a number of different pub groups, there is a huge complexity behind this and best laid plans are always subject to change.
  • To give you an idea of sheer scale, we have 1600 SKUs and 150 vendors across 9 depots
  • This is a role for someone with ambition & commitment, our logistics partners, GXO, are investing heavily in their infrastructure and functionality as they want to be the biggest and best at what they do – and you will work very closely with them.

  • Your team will be developed throughout the year and feel that you champion their cause
  • You will lead a motivated and engaged team who will always have the end customer as their focus
  • Develop a true and trusted partnership with key stakeholders (Suppliers/GXO/Pub Companies/Colleagues), ensuring that high levels of stock availability are maintained
