JOB TITLE: PLANNING MANAGER

REPORTING TO: CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Scheduling work into the Factory, coordinating necessary inputs from different departments to achieve the plan.

Identifying enabling tasks and ensuring they are completed in time, identifying blockers and taking steps to remove them.

Factory revenue forecasting by project and analysis of impact on forecast of delays in tasks/procurement to facilitate optimisation of manufacturing plan.

Analysis of status of production at any point in time to enable reporting of status by project on a timely basis.

Factory revenue and WIP valuation.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • IT literate, with knowledge of working in an ERP system, such as IFS, SAP or Oracle and generally good with spreadsheets.
  • Good reporting skills
  • Knowledge of planning and reporting in an engineering or manufacturing business that assembles products from multiple components through a series of production stages.
  • A team player capable of working under pressure with colleagues at all levels in a busy office environment.
  • Good communication skills, as the role involves interface and management of people across production, stores, procurement, design and QS and also senior management.
  • Confidence to attend Factory meetings, provide and interpret information for management, be able to distil issues down to their key components, so that management focus can be placed on them, and articulate their conclusions effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Vocational focussed degree – supply chain management, business systems, finance, IT or similar.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Project Work Breakdown Structure
  • Project Master Production Schedule – the overall production plan for the project
  • Project Materials Resource Plan
  • Shop Order Requisitions
  • Shop Order Creation
  • Planning alterations in shop orders
  • Scheduling and rescheduling activities (tasks) in the factory
  • Identifying costs and revenue against each activity to create monthly revenue forecast
