JOB TITLE: Planning Manager

DEPARTMENT: Operations

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Operations

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Planning Manager is to be responsible for the leadership of the Production Planning department within CUK, ensuring challenging plans are generated with buy-in from your Operations counterparts, and load & capacity is regularly monitored and updated in line with Corporate requirements. You will be a member of the sites Extended Leadership Team, responsible for monitoring and reporting out on a suite of metrics, whilst proposing, leading and supporting projects to improve overall site performance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and maintain detailed capacity modelling processes to provide a decision making tool for capital investment and recruitment.

· Work with the business ERP system to ensure that forecast and standards are accurately maintained to ensure input to the load and capacity process are accurate.

· Work closely with the capability acquisition and new part introduction teams to understand the impact of future programmes on the overall operational strategy of CUK.

· You will lead the production commitment acceptance process for CUK, working closely with other Operations team members to ensure that customer requirements are understood, that CUK rate and capacity requirements are also defined and that subsequently, a committed CUK supply plan is agreed with, and communicated to, customers.

· Develop gap closure plans and run appropriate governance to ensure that plans are executed to meet capacity needs to the customer. Maintain a long-term capital investment strategy to align customer requirement to operational plans.

· Working with the planning team you will ensure the short term 13-week plans are consistent with the assumptions made in the medium / long term planning.

· Maintain accurate sales forecasts considering “what if” scenarios on short, medium- and long-term horizons.

· Monitor and report gaps to 13 week plans across key processes within the facility highlighting bottle necks and constraints and ensuring that short term actions are in place to address issues where required.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCES

· You will be an experienced business professional demonstrating experience in a supply chain environment used to working within an ERP environment.

· You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.

· You will have applied or led improvement activities, including the deployment of lean manufacturing principles.

· You will possess a strong commercial acumen, with previous experience in project/programme management within a multi-functional team.

· You will have people management experience, being comfortable leading teams in a challenging environment. You will be highly self-motivated, with an ability to motivate others to achieve a common goal.

· You will demonstrate strong IT skills, being proficient in tools within the Microsoft Office suite. You will possess strong analytical skills and be familiar with interpreting data sets from ERP applications.

· You will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, be able to overcome challenges to meet goals and drive for results, possess the ability to honour commitments, and exercise sound business judgement.
