Are you a motivated individual with experience of high-value trust fundraising that can help us beat cancer sooner?

Why we need you

We need you to manage, cultivate and steward supporters currently giving philanthropic gifts of up to £100k. Further to this, we need you to identify supporters with the capacity to give at a higher level and ensure that these supporters are planned and transitioned in a timely manner.

What will I be doing?

Make an impact every day by…

  • Working closely with the Leadership Giving Lead and Senior Managers to manage and recruit Board members, senior volunteers and triage referrals coming through senior volunteer activity
  • Acting as lead canvasser for donors in the up to £100k programme
  • Identifying supporters who have the capacity to give at a higher level, and creating development plans for these supporters
  • Using audience insight and major gifts expertise to ensure communications, events and stewardship journeys are appropriate
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for donors to be transitioned and uplifted
  • Developing a strong working knowledge of the campaign priorities and scientific work of CRUK
  • Contributing to cross Philanthropy Directorate initiatives, strategy development and other activity and working groups where appropriate.

What skills are we looking for?

You’ll be able to bring to the role…

  • Experience of soliciting gifts from both warm and cold prospects at a five figure level or other transferable experience of securing new business in a commercial sales environment
  • Proven track record of major gift fundraising in the not-for-profit sector or similar transferable experience gained in the commercial sector
  • Proven experience of building effective long-term relationships with high level individual stakeholders and/or senior volunteers
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional listening skills and efficient written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload through appropriate planning and prioritisation.

What will I gain?

Working within an ambitious and driven Philanthropy team, this role provides an opportunity to work alongside, collaborate with and learn from some of the most experienced fundraisers in the sector. As part of the team at CRUK you’ll see that value your skills bring to the incredible research we fund and in turn the impact this has on patients.

Without you we wouldn’t be able to achieve our aim of seeing 3 in 4 people survive cancer by 2034. So, we want to reward you in as many ways as possible. Our benefits package includes discounts on anything from travel to technology, generous holiday allowance, gym membership, childcare vouchers and much more. You’ll also be able to access a wide range of learning and development opportunities. And ultimately, you’ll know that you’ll be changing lives through your work.

If you’re as ambitious as we are, join our collective force and enjoy an excellent career, as we save lives and add years.
