Personal Advisor 37 Hours (flexible Working Considered) Salary £31,099 - £35,411 County Hall, Dorchester, Combined With Home-working What’s In It For YouDorset Council have been investing and strengthening their service to young people leaving their care. An opportunity has arisen to join the Care Leavers Team as a Personal Adviser. This is a position of 37 hours per week.The Care Leavers Service, made up of 3 teams, is centrally based at County Hall in Dorchester and supports care experienced young people as they make the transition from being in the care of the Local Authority into independent adulthood. There is also a hub in Weymouth.What You Can Expect To Be DoingPA’s support a number of young people aged between 16 and 25 years. You will deliver the full range of statutory responsibilities through the Leaving Care Act 2000. This involves providing young people with advice and guidance. You will be working collaboratively with all partners to identify and meet individuals needs, assisting young people to participate in pathway planning to ensure that their future plans properly reflect their individual strengths, aspirations and needs. You will be working in young peoples homes, their communities, in Council offices and you will have the option to do some work from home.About YouYou will have experience of providing high quality services to children, young people and families or others with multiple vulnerabilities.You will be used to working in a fast paced environment and able to adapt to changing situations and respond appropriately.You will be an effective communicator and be creative in your work to produce innovative solutionsYou will have knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation and guidance and the issues affecting young people leaving care.You will be self motivated and able to work on your own and as part of a teamYou will be able to use IT to support accurate case recording, report writing and management information as required by service standards.Additional InformationFor more information regarding this role, please contact Susan Holden at susan.holden@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk or 01305 228275.This Vacancy Is Being Advertised Internally To
