we have an exciting opportunity for the right candidte to Join an ever growing team in the abergavenny area job desciption below working hours Monday-Thursday 8am5pm Friday 8am12.30pm Job Overview: Working within a FMCG production environment the company are seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to control all of their current purchasing functions. The role will be reporting directly to the companies Managing Director to help develop positive purchasing strategies and work across all aspects of the purchasing process. This role will suit a current Purchasing Assistant looking for growth opportunities into Purchasing Supervisor or a current Purchasing Supervisor looking to move into a new role with good routes for progression. Job Responsibilities:Control the ordering of parts to support production requirementsControl the ordering of business consumable itemsMaintaining the companies MRP system and progressing this onto the ERP systemWorking alongside the Engineering teams for periodic machine service requirements and software renewalsWorking alongside the production and sales teams for the creation and loading of new product BOMsBuilding and maintaining strong business to supplier relationships through direct communicationNegotiating with supplier base on price points and delivery time scalesEnsuring suppliers understand and deliver against internal expectations on quality and timescalesResearching and identifying new potential supply baseDevelop and implement company purchasing strategiesConducting research to benchmark supplier costings to ensure we achieve competitive pricing and VFMRaising of purchase orders upon internal approval by DirectorsWorking alongside internal suppliers to share production demands and ensure products are received in a timely mannerTraining of any new staff in the companies purchasing functions and system processes Key Skills:Purchasing experience at assistant level or higherExperience within a FMCG production environmentExperience of managing MRP systemsKnowledge of Inventory and Supply Chain ManagementProactive and innovative approachAbility to work on your own or as part of a teamAbility to prioritise workloadStrong critical thinking and negotiation skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsSupervisory experience would be desirable but not essential Benefits:Salary of between £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 dependant on experienceTravel allowance if outside of business catchment areaSick Pay AllowanceAuto Enrolment into standard pension schemeEnrolment into the entry level HSF Healthcare SchemeStandard 20 days holidays plus bank holidaysScope for progression into Purchasing Manager as the purchasing team develops and grows Please note that your details will be kept on file until a suitable applicant has been recruited and successfully completed probation period, after-which your details will be destroyed in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) if you think you would be a good fit please call Dain on (phone number removed) to discuss.
