  • 12.30pm Job Overview: Working within a FMCG production environment the company are seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to control all of their current purchasing functions. The role will be reporting directly to the companies Managing Director to help develop positive purchasing strategies and work across all aspects of the purchasing process. This role will suit a current Purchasing Assistant looking for growth opportunities into Purchasing Supervisor or a current Purchasing Supervisor looking to move into a new role with good routes for progression. Job Responsibilities:
  • Control the ordering of parts to support production requirements
  • Control the ordering of business consumable items
  • Maintaining the companies MRP system and progressing this onto the ERP system
  • Working alongside the Engineering teams for periodic machine service requirements and software renewals
  • Working alongside the production and sales teams for the creation and loading of new product BOMs
  • Building and maintaining strong business to supplier relationships through direct communication
  • Negotiating with supplier base on price points and delivery time scales
  • Ensuring suppliers understand and deliver against internal expectations on quality and timescales
  • Researching and identifying new potential supply base
  • Develop and implement company purchasing strategies
  • Conducting research to benchmark supplier costings to ensure we achieve competitive pricing and VFM
  • Raising of purchase orders upon internal approval by Directors
  • Working alongside internal suppliers to share production demands and ensure products are received in a timely manner
  • Training of any new staff in the companies purchasing functions and system processes Key Skills:
  • Purchasing experience at assistant level or higher
  • Experience within a FMCG production environment
  • Experience of managing MRP systems
  • Knowledge of Inventory and Supply Chain Management
  • Proactive and innovative approach
  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Supervisory experience would be desirable but not essential Benefits:
  • Salary of between £30,000.00 - £35,000.00 dependant on experience
