Candour are recruiting for a Toolmaker for our well known client in the Tredegar area. Role: Working as part of the Toolroom team responsible for servicing and maintenance of all injection moulding and press tools on site Main Responsibilities: Part the current core toolmaking team we have on site-To be able to carry out tasks unsupervised, the ability to work without immediate support to resolve all tooling breakdowns during week. To complete improvement tasks/planned maintenance (when not tackling tooling breakdowns). Support Tooling engineer in achieving all maintenance tasks on tooling
  • Good communication, flexibility, team ethics to achieve goals. Understanding of injection moulding tools
  • Familiar with fault finding tooling / stripping / planned maintenance Understanding of press / deep drawing tools
  • Experience of press tooling, maintenance and repair would be beneficial Good understanding of all maintenance tools
  • Planned maintenance, predictive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, kaizen Carry out maintenance health and safety, environmental tasks
  • Understanding of legionella checks, fire alarm system checks, permits to work, risk assessments; correct PPE; lock out tag out; environmental hazards and controls on site. Basic computer literacy skills
  • To support team in updating various spreadsheets (weekly maintenance workload, team efficiencies)
  • Education and Qualifications: Must have undertaken a 4 year indentured apprenticeship, City & Guilds or O.N.C in mechanical or electrical engineering a benefit Experience of working in an injection moulding / manufacturing environment will be an advantage. To work on own initiative Problem solving techniques Preventative maintenance techniques (predictive, planned) To mentor apprentices on site Analytical thinking and problem solving Conscientiousness Flexibility Initiative Planning & Organising Trustworthiness Written Communication Verbal Communication Self Confidence Team work and collaborationHours of work: Monday-Thursday 07.00
