Building Services Facilities Management Department are seeking to recruit to the position of Peripatetic Cleaner in Charge to support the Team Leaders by leading the cleaning teams to enhance the cleaning standards across our sites. You will be required to work a split-shift pattern predominantly between the hours of 6am-9am and 3:30pm-6:30pm however flexibility to meet the needs of the service is essential.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a busy environment as part of a focussed team, and who is able to communicate at all levels. Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be offered to the right candidate.

Duties may include opening and closing of sites, supervising a team of cleaners, undertaking daily inspections of the site and support with quality control processes to ensure high standards are maintained. Conducting of team briefings to cascade information to frontline staff ensuring that all staff are working productively and safely, compliance checks and working with customers to address any specific concerns, manage equipment, materials and stock levels.

You may also be required to carry out cleaning duties such as vacuuming, washroom cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing of furniture and window cleaning plus occasional use of electrical machinery such as buffing machines, wet pick-ups.

You will play a vital role as part of a team of cleaning staff. This post is predominantly one where you will be expected to work using your own initiative and you will be expected to plan your daily workload to meet the needs of the service.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations
  • Flexibility
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate on all levels
