Purpose of the role:

Key responsibility of the People Generalist is to ensure a compliant, correct and on time payroll, variable compensation computation, benefit processing and administration for a defined group of employees. The People generalist is furthermore in charge of processing incoming “Front Office” requests/questions from employees and managers of general nature as well as acting as point of contact for Payroll and People related question. The emphasis on specific tasks or functions will vary during the year based on planning cycles and other business events and programs.

Key areas of accountability:

  • Support the wider team in processing annual and cyclical activities, ensuring accuracy of data and adherence to deadlines.
  • Contributes to People projects and reporting requirements as required.
  • Handles entire payroll process with external payroll provider and internal interfaces (e.g., Finance).
  • Owns the entire handling process of variable compensation from preparation of new variable compensation period throughout the entire fiscal year including final true-up after fiscal year, approvals as required and pay out to Colleagues.
  • Generates employee related accruals for accounting as required.
  • Ensures compliance with external legislation as well as internal and external audit requirements; prepares and administers corresponding documentation.
  • May own responsibility for benefit handling, processing and administration.
  • Provides first-point-of-contact support to incoming request through email and/or phone, with the goal of resolving at first contact whenever possible (1st level support).
  • Provides accurate, consistent and timely responses to People processes, system and policy requests that are routine requests and require limited research and no consultation.
  • Refers complex cases requiring interpretation to a specialist where necessary and according to escalation governance guidelines.
  • Handles selected contractual matters throughout the entire employment life cycle.
  • Ensures compliant handling of Joiner/Leaver/Mover process.
  • Maintains colleague data in all related database, systems and Colleague files using GDPR guidelines.
  • Performs routine administrative functions per established processes as assigned.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of hands-on people matters within both operational and office environment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Employment legislation.
  • CIPD level 3-5.
  • Ideally 1-2 years relevant experience within People.
  • Very good language skills in English; Additional language skills are a benefit.

This role is on a fixed term contract basis, initially for a period of 8 months, with the potential to extend or become permanent.
