We are working with a large and friendly accountancy practise who are currently looking for a Payroll Advisor to join their team in Banbury to provide a high-quality payroll service to their clients.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare clients weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual PAYE in a consistently timely and accurate manner
  • Processing CIS and off-payroll worker Payrolls
  • Liaise with H.M. Revenue & Customs for PAYE queries
  • Advising a client on legislation that impacts PAYE.
  • Follow internal procedures and processes to maximise the profitability and efficiency of individual assignments
  • Escalate issues to the manager where appropriate considering that prompt resolution of queries is a high priority.
  • Conform to RTI regulations in terms of online submittal of FPS and EPS in conjunction with clients
  • Involvement with Auto-enrolment as and where appropriate, incorporating discussions with internal wealth planning teams
  • Electronic filing using Payroll software and HMRC website
  • Forward client mail connected with PAYE
  • Processing of BACS payments through the CreDec system.
  • Identify points for a partner to raise with clients and to raise the potential for additional services
  • Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery
  • Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets
  • Attend relevant training courses and develop your skills to ensure up to date knowledge and best practice a further enhancement of the team
  • Assist team members to ensure a balanced workload across the team, especially in the tie of absence and cover for holidays where required
Skills Required
  • Fully computer literate, including excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of in house systems such as IRIS Payroll, CreDec and Xero, also other accounts and in house systems
  • Excellent telephone manner with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own or in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work effectively and efficiently
  • Flexible attitude to work patterns
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills
  • Accurate data inputting skills and eye for detail
  • Ability to use initiative in terms of decision making
  • Excellent problem resolutions skills and ideas generation ability
Knowledge

Required
  • In-depth Payroll knowledge including Furlough, statutory rates, year-end procedures and specialist payrolls such as directors payroll etc.
  • Knowledge of Auto re-enrolment requirements
  • Knowledge of payroll systems Preferably IRIS and Xero Payroll and their uses and benefits

  • Minimum 2 years experience with primary responsibility for payroll administration end to end processing.
  • Experience working with time and attendance, payroll and HRMC systems
