We are delighted to announce as part of our exciting business growth that we are recruiting for a Payment Performance Analyst to join our Payment & Finance Operations team here at Domestic and General. Reporting into the Group Head of Payments this role will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining critical payment related data. They will be responsible for management reporting, accuracy and assurance monitoring, data driven recommendations and comprehensive reports across payments and finance operations to support D&G’s decision-making processes.

In addition, the role will contribute and shape our payment strategies, optimising performance and ensuring accurate and insightful reporting is produced. Your focus will be to provide reporting, data, outputs to monitor performance, accuracy and trends and provide recommendations and useful insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor payment processes and systems, identifying, highlighting, and addressing anomalies or issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting on payment performance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Analyse payment data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of improvement.
  • Generate comprehensive reports on payment performance, highlighting key metrics and insights.
  • Utilise data visualisation tools to present payment-related information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Audit and analyse payment data to suggest potential opportunities for improvement and efficiency, supported by detailed modelling and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including finance, operations, commercial and MI, to provide data-driven recommendations for enhancing payment processes and strategies.
  • Keep up to speed with industry trends, regulation and technologies related to payments, particularly in the financial service industry and provide thought leadership and strategic guidance to D&G.
  • Continuously improve payment performance analysis methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve within the Operational Improvement team & work with team to drive these improvements.

Skills And Experience Required For This

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present finding and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in payment performance analysis or a related field
  • Sound knowledge of payments processing systems, regulations, and industry standards
  • Good business and commercial awareness
  • Analytical background
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as Excel, SQL, and data visualisation software
  • Ability to express ideas and requirements in a clear and confident manner.
