The Parts Advisor is responsible for smooth and efficient running front and rear parts counters and controlling stock movements.


Essential duties and responsibilities


To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to assist and then after an allotted training period perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


 Run front and back Service Counters

 Pick and deliver correct parts to customers and workshop on time

 Complete relevant documentation including invoices etc.

 Build and develop customer relationships and deliver excellent customer service

 Work together with the workshop and other departments

 Return warranty and service exchange units regularly

 Receive and inspect all packages delivered, resolving any issues

 Stock management

 Department housekeeping

 Parts ordering

 DSM

 Supply parts to customers

 Deal with suppliers

 Promote parts to customers to increase sale

 Inform customers of any promotions that are running to help increase sales.

 Control stock in cost effective mannerl

 Deal with customers/colleagues in professional manner

 Control VOR/freight charge costs

 Chase supplier credits

 Any other general duties as designated by the Manager

Education and/or Experience


  • Computer literacy
  • Knowledge of Scania parts and systems

 Current driving licence

 Ability to work within a team  Ability to work within guidelines and to deadlines

 Excellent written and oral communication skills  Excellent customer service skills

 Computer literacy

 High level of computer literacy

 Solution-driven approach

 Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety requirements  Detail orientated

 Fork Lift Licence (FLT)

 Experience on Scania products

 Main Dealer parts experience
