An opportunity has arisen for a paralegal to join the Industrial Disease department within our military deafness team.
Hugh James has been at the forefront of group action litigation for over 25 years and has an enviable reputation. The firm is currently conducting around twenty major group actions representing claimants across the UK.

The firm and its lawyers have been consistently ranked in the top tiers in both Chambers UK Guide and the Legal 500 for personal injury (including industrial disease), and is a UK leader in the field of environmental litigation.
This Cardiff based role will involve working on a cohort of group action claims, to include military deafness.
Duties will include:

• Assisting in the inspection of disclosure documents
• Dealing with CFAs and funding
• Dealing with telephone enquiries from clients
• Reviewing medical records
• Preparing of witness statements
• Preparing instructions to experts

This role will ideally suit a law graduate or similar academic achievement.
The successful candidate will have excellent client care skills in order to deal with sensitive issues involving clients who may be emotional and vulnerable.
The ideal candidate will be IT literate with good interpersonal skills as the role will involve a lot of client contact over the telephone. The ability to work well in a team is essential along with a proactive approach to work ethics.
Strong organisational skills are also required as is the ability to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines.
