Paralegal (Court of Protection)

Our client is seeking a proactive and highly efficient Paralegal to join their Private Client Department, specifically within their Court of Protection team. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for managing large damages rewards and settlements for both adults and minors who have sustained a brain injury. The successful candidate will have experience working within Court of Protection and handling property and financial affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing large damages rewards and settlements for adults and minors who have sustained a brain injury.
  • Drafting legal documents and court applications.
  • Managing client files and liaising with clients, medical professionals, and other third parties.
  • Assisting solicitors in Court of Protection matters.
  • Conducting legal research.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Paralegal within Court of Protection is essential.
  • Experience handling both property and financial affairs.
  • Good knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good drafting skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.

Education:

  • A degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Completion of a Paralegal training course or equivalent.
