About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced paralegal looking for a new challenge or for someone looking to gain experience in a wide variety of legal issues dealt with in a small, fast-paced team.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the provision of first class legal advice to our internal clients which include the senior management of the business. You will also be involved in working with other internal corporate functions such as HR and Finance and also to provide support to other offices throughout FTI’s EMEA region, as well as in the US.

What You’ll Do

The main responsibilities will be the following:

Legal :
  • Drafting, amending and negotiating basic legal contracts such as confidentiality agreements, client engagement letters, supplier agreements, marketing contracts and master services agreements;
  • Basic company secretarial duties, including drafting and tracking board and shareholder minutes and resolutions, providing assistance with changes of registered office, director appointments and resignations ad completing online forms and filings;
  • Legal research;
  • Assisting our Director of Risk and Compliance in a number of activities including updating engagement letters, submitting FCA and HMRC filings, responding to AML/CDD queries and support in the preparation and management of related training;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of compliance records for group companies including an FCA regulated entity;
  • Assisting with contractual disputes, including drafting basic letters of claim and working with external counsel on issuing statutory demands;
  • Provide technical first line advice and support to managers and employees on any basic operational issues and ensure the advice is in line with legislation and company policy in order to minimise any risk.

Administrative:
  • To undertake all duties of a clerical and administrative nature as required;
  • To field calls, answer general enquiries or forward them as appropriate within the legal team;
  • Maintaining and, where instructed, updating precedent documents and templates including managing the role out of key legal template documents across all EMEA jurisdictions (including working with external legal counsel for jurisdictional-specific updates);
  • Maintenance of files and filing system; file and record deeds and contracts;
  • Setting up new systems as necessary to improve the efficiency of the administration of the legal team including providing support for the role out and integration of key legal technologies (i.e. document management systems and workflow tools).


Qualifications & Experience

Education and Qualifications:


  • GDL and/or LPC is essential
  • Law or other degree at 2:1 (or equivalent) would be preferred
  • Legal Executive qualification would be preferred
  • Knowledge of FCA Rule Book and regulations would be an advantage
  • Fluency in French, German and/or Spanish would be an advantage
