Job OverviewAre you a newly qualified (or within 6 months of gaining your FDS Orth) or an experienced Consultant in Orthodontics? Are you looking for an opportunity that will allow you to progress your career and offer you future opportunities to move into a clinical lead role? Are you a consultant looking for additional work to fit in around your private practice sessions? Are you looking to train future orthodontists and therapists?If the answer to any of these questions are yes, then we would love to hear from you!We are looking to expand our Orthodontic team, and we are flexible in our approach. We currently have an established team of three Orthodontic Consultants, one trainee, two specialty doctors, and plans are being finalised to train an inhouse dental nurse as an orthodontic therapist at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton and Yeovil District Hospital, Yeovil. We also have an established maxillofacial department and restorative dentistry department, as well as an onsite orthodontic laboratory.Main duties of the jobThis is fantastic opportunity for you to join a Trust with an outstanding CQC rating, the highest GMC score for training in the South West and close links to Bristol University. There is also the opportunity for you to continue to support taking the department digital with intraoral scanners, 3D model scanner and new cone beam CT machine. We are also offering the post with an attractive relocation package.We are looking to appoint into 10 sessions, however we are able to offer a high level of flexibility and would be open to discussing the numbers of sessions you are looking for. You can also choose to be based at our site at Yeovil District Hospital, Yeovil or at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton or a combination.You will provide consultation services for General Dentists and Specialist Orthodontists in primary care, offering advice for all patients and treatment for those with the greatest clinical need. You will also have involvement with Specialist Outpatient Services including; Joint, Orthognathic Clinics and Joint Restorative Clinics. There is also a link with the South West Cleft Team and the ability to do the orthodontic treatment for these patients on site.Working for our organisationAbout The TrustSomerset NHS Foundation Trust is the first NHS trust on the English mainland to provide community, mental health and acute hospital services.
