Petrofac is looking to recruit an Operations Technician – RPE to join our Petrofac Facilities Management Limited based in Aberdeen, UK

Key Accountabilities
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s Life Saving Rules.

  • Participation in the annual performance review process, completing meaningful scorecards through SMART objectives and completing reviews in line with the company driven timeframe.
  • Accountable to the Operations Supervisor (OS) for the safe operation of Power Generation and Distribution Systems
  • Accountable to the Operations Supervisor (OS) for the safe operation of Water Injection and Utilities Systems.
  • Perform routine and non-routine (Front Line) Maintenance tasks on Safety Systems, Process, Utilities systems recording history and reporting defects.
  • Fulfil the role of RPE on the installation.
  • Carry out all required maintenance and fault finding on installation Solar Mars powered generation packages.
  • Preparation and re-instatement of equipment requiring intrusive and non-intrusive maintenance.
  • Control of work and activities in your area of responsibility including auditing
Skills & Experience
  • Ideal candidate would have experience working as an RPE or in an electrical maintenance position.
  • Experience with high voltage operation and switching essential.
  • Experience in operating process utility system would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Marine Systems would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience working on Solar Mars turbines or other gas turbines would also be beneficial.
  • Relevant qualification: ONC or C&G or NVQ in Electrical Discipline.
  • A process qualification would be beneficial but not essential (NVQ / POLS).
  • Electrical trade background preferably already qualified to AEP or SAEP status.
  • Experience in either process operations and or/maintenance support activities as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Use skills and experience to contribute to problem solving and improvements.
  • Have Emergency Response role and possess valid certification or willing to train for this role.
