A rare opportunity and newly created role for an Operations Manager in the Andover area. Working days.

Our client is looking for someone who is organised and responsible to manage the operation of the companies’ activities.

Skills and experience:

  • Must have experience looking after rental hire vehicles
  • Proven supervisory and management experience in a technical environment.
  • High level of commitment and be flexible in their approach to working hours.
  • Hard working and resourceful and must be willing to work as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Good communication skills, dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Must have clean full driving licence.
  • Ideally have experience in the Waste/Rental or even water industry.

The Role:

  • The general support of the company’s Managing Director.
  • Working alongside our General, and Finance Manager
  • The day-to-day management of the companies’ operational needs.
  • The technical support of our sales and marketing activities.
  • Management of our rental fleet; to include off-hire turnaround, routine maintenance, scheduling of MOT’s and electrical certification etc.
  • Management of all transport movements, liaising with site contacts and co-ordinating resource where applicable.
  • The default contact for customers and staff technical and contractual needs.
  • Managing the yard/storage area and workshop.
  • Ensuring all operations conducted by the Service Department and Operators meet our, and our customers, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
  • The management and scheduling of the company’s process operators.
  • Working with our Technical Manager to improve the reliability and quality of our rental equipment.
  • Supporting our field and admin staff in the preparation and production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Ensuring sufficient critical spare parts are held and maintained for all rental equipment.
  • Maintaining an inventory of equipment/parts held in the workshop/store.
  • With support of the stock and logistics supervisor, maintaining our plant register and issuing our plant availability spreadsheet each Friday.
  • The development and training of operations staff.
  • Some site visits will be required to assist with the installation of equipment.

Working Monday to Friday day hour 08.00am-4pm
