Marston Foods, based in Frome, Somerset are currently looking for an Operations Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within an FMCG business, be a great communicator with extensive manufacturing and HR knowledge and a can do attitude. The recent period of growth is bringing about change within Marston Foods, and change management will be a key factor of this role, as well as collaboration across all departments, team development and of course the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Job Role:

To manage the 24 hour 7 day production facility, adhering to internal and external standards and ensuring that the following are completed successfully:

1. Development, motivation, and support to Production Managers

2. Health & Safety, continual review of risk assessment, implementing continuous improvement and installing a culture of Safety at Work

3. Promote food safety and quality standards in everything we do as priority

4. Driving production performance improvement initiatives

5. Maintenance & repairs schedule management

6. Training schedule management

7. Promoting and engaging in cross departmental team work

8. HR – disciplinaries, recruitment, reviews, conflict and change management

9. Manage the department overheads and ensure spending and budget are aligned and discussed

10. Ensure the department is audit compliant at all times

Courses, Training, Endorsements required:

1. Food Safety:

· Minimum of “Food Hygiene L3”

· Minimum “HACCP L3”

2. HR- Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures:

a. Proven track record of successfully conducting meetings and following process to completion

b. Good understanding of relevant HR legislation

3. H&S- “IOSH managing safely” or equivalent

4. Continuous Improvement- formal training or proven record of running manufacturing improvement projects

5. Good communication skills written and spoken, including confident use of Microsoft applications.
