Are you an experienced Operations Manager used to working closely with surveyors and conducting site and health and safety checks for Mechanical or Electrical product installations?

Ideally you would have a previous background within Installations or on the tools, General Engineering or Construction and have a proven track record in managing your own workload and the workload of others.

Right Now Group is partnered with an industry leader, currently looking to recruit an exceptional Full-Time Field based Operations Manager to play a crucial part in the running of their northern operation.

Please note: This role is predominantly field based covering multiple B2B sites including the North of England and Scotland’s central belt.

Role Overview

Working to support Systems and Product specification, verification and design approval. Adhering to strict deadlines to ensure site installation work is conducted safely in line with customer expectations, costings and time-frames.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducting pre-site inspections and measurements
  • Attend Site Meetings as required.
  • Provide technical support to Engineers, Sales Team and Operations Team
  • Manage on-site installation works for new sales orders against agreed customer requirements, contractual obligations, quality standards and budgets.
  • Promote and monitor/report on-site environmental, health and safety compliance.
  • Measure and maintain installation quality standards via monthly site Quality Checks.
  • Monitor and report product quality issues/concerns and highlight improvement opportunities to the Manufacturing Manager as required.
  • Support post-installation handover to customer as required.
  • Support post-installation handover to Service Department as required.
  • Support and potentially lead (where necessary) resolution of snagging/handover disputes in order to facilitate on-time cash collection and mitigate DSO.
  • Source and assist with approval of sub-contract workforce.
  • Work as part of a team, working to customer timescales and deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within a service lead industry, ideally within Lifts or Escalators, Entrance systems , Architectural and Building installations or Facades
  • Managing Contractors, Facade Sub-Contractors, Specifiers, Quantity Surveyors and Field Engineers
  • Pricing and producing high value quotations
  • Surveying/ Project Managements, Installer or Operations Management experience
  • Willingness to travel to multiple sites covering Scotland and the North of England
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical product drawings
  • Ironmongery, Aluminium systems or Metal Fabrications experience
  • CITB/CSCS or SMSTS certifications
  • ADSA BS/EN Standards Authorised Technician
