We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager / Director to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Middlesbrough, UK. This is an office based role, where you will be managing a team of Engineers and support staff to achieve a standard that exceeds the customers’ expectations.
Key duties and responsibilities...
  • Manage a team of persons to enable the smooth running of the Department (Service Co-Ordinator x1 - Currently, based in Middlesbrough / Service Sales Manager x1 - Currently, based in Middlesbrough / Engineering Team Leader x1 - Currently, based in Telford / Mobile technicians x8 Currently but team is growing)
  • Co-ordination of engineers and sub-contractors for breakdowns/services.
  • Receive/make calls regarding breakdowns/service, general service queries, technical support, as well as negotiating with customers on the prices and services,
  • Work with the Workshop and Projects Manager to coordinate the installation of machines/systems.
  • Manage the data base of Service and Maintenance contracts.
  • Manage the Service Sales manager who compiles quotes for breakdowns/services and further work.
  • Set up and Manage weekend cover for Breakdowns.
  • Management of Budget- Carry out assessments and log warranty, mastercare and rental repairs for senior management.
  • Work with the Engineering Team Leader to arrange Training as required for the engineers to elevate their skills.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and qualifications....
  • A background in Engineering for machinery desirable
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Management experience
  • Commercially minded
Hours - 40 hours pw

Benefits
  • Salary of circa £55,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
