Open Banking Developer

Knutsford

As a Barclays Open Banking Developer, you will work within the Access Management team on leading software development areas of the Access Management security services. You will be involved in front-end, back-end, API development, scripting, and automation. Designing, developing and maintaining back end with a focus on core Java and multi-threaded environment, Micro Services and Caching. You will also learn a multitude of technologies and programming languages, working in a fast-paced, collaborative office alongside engineers and developers.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing?

  • Designing and developing high-quality, efficient and readable business logic code
  • Adhering to best practices for software development at large and those within our team, leading development and automation work streams
  • Progressing changes through the full software development life cycle, from design to production release
  • Working with end users to discuss priorities and detail requirements and create architecture for the application from the base
  • Working with production support teams to respond to user issues quickly and effectively, leading meetings with internal stakeholders across IT and the business
  • Leveraging Development and Testing resources in sister teams to deliver on work streams
  • Leading and influencing global teams for project-oriented work and building consensus within groups to move in the strategic direction
  • Working closely with colleagues across regions to ensure the best solution is delivered in a timely fashion by sharing components and experience

What We’re Looking For

  • College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline along with experience in Information Security & Identity or Access Management domains
  • Experience in a Java Developer or Full Stack Developer role within an investment bank/finance sector as an expert in Java Development
  • Experience in all areas of development, automation, and scripting with DevOPS and DevSecOPS knowledge
  • Experience of UI design and development using Angular, Bootstrap, jQuery etc. and Automation using Jenkins, Chef, Puppet or Ansible; Scripting using Perl, Shell or Python

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Experience in AWS or any other Cloud technology, Knowledge of Docker Container installation, configuration and orchestrating using Kubernetes
  • Experience in Regulatory standards like Open Banking, Pay.UK CoP
  • Experience of working on large, multi-threaded, globally distributed, and complex projects
  • Ability to prioritize, work in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment and ability to identify, communicate and provision for project risks

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
