An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to a Band 3 development role based in our busy A&E Occupational Therapy department at St. Richard’s Hospital Chichester. The successful candidate would start as a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Technician, and move to a B4 Assistant Practitioner role once specified competencies have been achieved.

This successful applicant will work alongside a friendly and supportive Team, undertaking the assessment and discharge of routine non-complex patient under the general supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist.

With a focus on risk identification and mitigation, and in close liaison with the MDT and community services, this post is essential for avoiding unnecessary admissions and facilitating safe discharges home.

Applications are also welcome from candidates with proven B4 experience in the speciality who can demonstrate competence in the B4 competencies as set out in the attached document.

JOB PURPOSE: To apply, under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist, technical and creative skills in the provision of a flexible, patient centred programme of Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments.

DIMENSIONS: To work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in providing a programme of Occupational Therapy assessments and

treatments for a selected caseload of patients, being able to make

alterations when required by assessment of patient progress
