Position:Nursery Trainee Manager

Salary Banding: £17,000 – £22,0000 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Hours:Full time / Permanent / Mon-Fri / 35 hours

Location:Plymouth Area

About You

As a Trainee Manager at one of our nurseries, you must have an ambition to proceed to Nursery Management, our Trainee Managers are our future Nursery Managers so exceptional leadership skills are essential. You will be supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager of the setting to lead and manage a team of childcare practitioners who are responsible for providing first class care to children within the local community. All training will be conducted at Tops Stonehouse with flexibility to be able to work across all the Tops nurseries in the Plymouth area

Your Duties & Responsibilities will involve:

  • Responsible for overseeing a unit and assisting specialists in the nursery, such as Behaviour management representatives, SENCo, H&S rep, Equal opportunities etc.
  • Ensure that suitable opportunities, activities and resources are provided for all the children relevant to their age/stage and development needs to the requirements of external organisations.
  • Communicate with parents to ensure that all fees are paid and that parents are satisfied with the provision of care provided. You will also know how to operate a fees system including invoicing, collecting money, banking and reporting on financial targets.
  • Ensure that all staff are supported in their training and development and their job satisfaction. Ensure that all staff are mentored /coached appropriately.
  • Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager and to manage the setting in their absence
  • To be committed to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery and your direct care

As part of your professional development we expect all colleagues to undertake and continue their training once they have joined Tops. Undergoing a relevant qualification to your position is paramount in order to broaden your knowledge and build upon your skills to help you in your role. Therefore as a Trainee Manager we would support you in doing your Customer Service qualification.

The successful candidate will require:

A minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Qualification is required. All successful candidate will be subject to safety checks, including a full-completed Application Form and a DBS Checks.
