Veritas Education are looking for a passionate and experienced Room Leader to support one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your room as the team leader, ensuring that all children receive a rich and stimulating play experience. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: To provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children. To lead planning and maintain accurate and effective children’s records. To promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members. To support the development of good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion. To comply with all the relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and company policies and procedures at all times. To remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policy and practice. Observing activities being carried out and feeding back constructively to the team setting realistic targets to support and ensure the needs of children are met. Managing and maintaining administration requirements Role modelling good practice activities in the room and outside. Peer observations of staff, Joint observations of staff with room leaders, Joint observations of children alongside staff. To work in close partnership with the manager to ensure a consistent approach throughout the nursery. To take a lead role in the overall curriculum of the nursery and to be actively involved in supporting new initiatives as and when necessary. Carry out spot checks of the quality of planning, observations and learning journeys.Essential Criteria: Level 3 in a relevant Childcare & Education course Must have at least 2 years’ experience in childcare Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
