We are looking for someone who has excellent management skills and consistently work towards achieving an ‘outstanding’ at inspections. The ideal candidate must be passionate about running a fun, stimulating, and safe Centre for children, alongside wanting to grow and progress their career opportunities.

About the Role
You will be responsible to support at various settings across the business with any of the Management duties and responsibilities, ensuring the smooth running of the nursery in the absence of the Manager.

The settings you will be expected to support are Bournemouth, Christchurch, Boscombe, Poole, Parkstone Charminster

Your Duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and ensuring all agreed company quality and safety standards are maintained in the nurseries at all times.
  • Ensuring daily operational management of the nursery should be kept in line with the Tops mission statement and policies, the Children Act 2004/6 and other relevant legislation and all Ofsted requirements, achieving at least ‘Good’ but ideally ‘Outstanding’ at inspection.
  • It is the responsibility of the onsite management to be responsible for all safeguarding issues that may arise. The safety, security and wellbeing of children registered in the nursery is of paramount concern and is dealt with professionally, timely and on a need to know basis.
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the nursery and meet occupancy and financial objectives. You will require an understanding and manage the two, three and four year funding.
  • Formulate, operate and evaluate an annual program of activities, suitable for the age range of children, following the guide lines and implementation of the EYFS.
  • Leading practice by acting as a role model to staff, working on the floor with the staff teams finding out what service needs to be delivered.
  • Booking policies and receive all communication regarding change to these as a matter of priority.
  • Ensure that the first impressions of the setting are professional and lasting for parents and that these are maintained throughout the day.
  • Establish, develop and maintain professional working relationships with all relevant authorities, including the Local Authority, Ofsted etc.
  • Ensure that required standards, rations and conditions of the registration are maintained at all times and exceeded where possible.
  • Prepare the nursery for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector liaising with Head Office as appropriate, achieving Good or Outstanding for all areas.
  • Keeping up to date with current practice by attending courses, conferences and reading relevant magazines and books.
  • To be committed to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery and your direct care

You will be an exceptional leader who can develop and implement strategy in regards to current processes. You will have impeccable interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively to colleagues of all levels of seniority, being able to build working relationships to ensure common goals can be achieved.

Essential skills/qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 in Child Care or equivalent
  • First Aid Certificate (full training provided if you do not possess this certificates)
  • Health & Safety Certificate
  • Ability to lead nursery team

Desirable skills/qualifications:

  • Foreign Language
  • NVQ Assessor/ I.V
  • Valid driving license and access to own car

A clear and valid DBS is paramount and overseas applicants will need a clear and valid certificate of good conduct. Please note we will conduct a suitability check prior to interview.
