We are currently recruiting for a graduate Trainee Business Analyst on an 18 Month Fixed Term Contract to join our Business and Change Management team which helps the Bank understand, plan and deliver change across the business. The scheme is designed to fully support you professionally while giving you hands-on work experience, supplemented with a professional study programme to achieve a Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship.
The Apprenticeship will focus on the role of Business Analyst and you will be responsible for understanding the implications of business change. You will work with stakeholders across the business, ensuring that projects deliver the right solutions. From creating initial plans to liaising with IT teams to ensure technical solutions meet the right requirements, you will be working from start to finish on projects including providing support on testing, training, communications and project implementation.

Business and Change Management (BCM) has been created to provide a single point of coordination and common approach to the various ‘Change-the-Bank’ projects running and planned across Weatherbys Bank. Our overall remit is to help the Bank understand, plan and prioritise change, working with stakeholders across the Front and Back offices to schedule and help deliver meaningful change, aligning this to longer-term strategic objectives.
As a Trainee Business Analyst, you will be responsible for understanding the content and implications of business-change, and ensuring projects deliver solutions that facilitate the achievement of the anticipated benefits.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Work with Business Stakeholders to swiftly agree and lock-down project goals, scope and initial requirements.
Understand and articulate the end-to-end Business Impacts of change across people, processes, systems and customers.
Liaise among stakeholders/subject-matter-experts to elicit, analyse, communicate, and validate requirements for new and changing business processes, policies and information systems.
Identify gaps and understand opportunities in the context of the requirements.
Capture and model benefits and business-cases.
Ensure requirements are traceable to project objectives and benefits-cases.
Work along-side Project Managers and Solutions architects to create Project Approach and Plans.
Formulate operational designs (including business-processes) to fulfil business requirements.
Liaise with Change/IT teams to ensure technical solutions meet Business Requirements and take account of strategic business needs and direction. (i.e. work to ‘bridge-the-gap’ between the business and technical communities).
Liaise with delivery teams (e.g. Technical build-partners, Test-teams, Operational Readiness teams, HR, Training departments) to ensure business requirements and solutions are fully understood and can be taken forward into delivery.
Support UAT, Training, Project Comms and Implementation as necessary.

Education and Experience
2:1 or above degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Science/Maths, Politics, Law, Geography, Social-Science or Engineering, showing strong evidence against most of the key-competencies through academic-work, work-experience or extra-curricular activities (essential)
Placement or work experience in Financial Services or an analytical-based position (e.g. process improvement, data/systems analysis) showing strong evidence against most of the key-competencies through academic-work, work-experience or extra-curricular activities (desirable)
(Candidates will be asked to prepare and deliver a presentation within the interview-process that will show-case their key-competencies/transferable-skills)
Key Competencies
Driven and passionate about achieving world-class delivery of change.
Structured Business Analysis skills and approaches (e.g. requirements capture, analysis and documentation, [use-case and Business Requirements Documents], business-impact assessment, business process design [BPMN and Swimlane], benefits identification and business-case modelling, traceability management).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (including creative thinking and decision-making).
Ability to gather and analyse complex information, data and opinions from a range of sources (including people and documentation), assimilating this regarding how it relates to a business-need, process or concept (i.e. systems and conceptual thinking).
Ability to ‘see the big picture’ as well as pay attention to the fine detail.
Ability to communicate and represent complex information in easily understandable visual representations (diagrams, pictures, graphs); excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to quickly ascertain business knowledge and ‘hit the ground running’ when working with a new business area.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to get the best out of people.
High emotional intelligence, with the ability to read different situations and adjust communication style accordingly.
Candidates requiring Visa sponsorship will not be considered for this role so you must have either an EU/UK passport or a Visa that does not require sponsorship.
