The Role

You will be managing your own projects as well as assisting the more senior Network and Infrastructure Specialists in the on-going service improvement of environments, building fit-outs, alignment of new and improved kit to support smart ways of working in a digitised setting. You will help in research and development of plans for optimisation of mobilisation and accessibility from proof of concept through to live environment and preparation of hand-over documentation and training to the IT Service Delivery Team.

You need to ensure existing environments are operating optimally and suggest and make improvements where necessary. Experience gained in previous first and second line roles covering areas such as Active DirectoryExchangeOffice 365AzureTelecoms is required. You will investigate and resolve issues escalated from the IT Service Delivery Team and provide training where necessary to reduce the number of escalations. Assisting the IT Service Delivery Team, you will ensure the best possible customer service is offered.

The Person

You will have a broad background in I.T. Support based on Windows Desktop Operating systems and office applications both locally and cloud based. You will have experience of planning roll outs as well as knowledge of Office 365 administration. Experience in networking topologies and administration of telephony solutions along with knowledge of working with various back-up technologies would be advantageous.

You will have experience working within a team that utilises ITIL framework best practices, this includes abiding by the Change Management process, responding to issues which may arise unexpectedly.

You will have experience managing projects keeping within specified timeframes and budgets, you will contribute to the overall IT project plan providing regular updates to the IT Service Improvement Manager.

You will be an individual who will work well within a team but when needed can be independent which may be demonstrated by meeting key stakeholders across the business to evaluate and act upon their bespoke requirements.

To succeed in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate:
  • Both manage your own projects and assist when required in delivering tasksprojects
  • Investigate and resolve escalated issues. Escalate further if required after thorough diagnosis
  • Manage desktops running Windows 10 and Office 365. Assist with updating and upgrading software
  • Support Telephony solutions both on premise and cloud based.
  • Remote resolution of issues as well as pro-active onsite visits throughout organisational locations
  • Work on a Rota basis ensuring cover between business hours and be flexible to working outside or normal business hours to cover call out and/or network maintenance or project delivery
  • A valid driving licence and the ability to travel to any site within organisational boundaries
