The University are now working with the Saturday Club Trust to offer new National Saturday Clubs to local 13- to 16-year-olds. This opportunity enables local young people to gain a ‘Uni-Experience’ at an early stage. The Club Members will be on our campuses every Saturday, learning new skills, meeting new people, and breaking down any barriers to their continued study onto HE in the future.

We are now seeking a National Saturday Club Manager to manage the Art & Design Club. This exciting new roles enables you to influence and motivate local young people who are considering a future creative career.

In this role, you will also be a part of the National Saturday Club brand and have the opportunity to work with other club tutors/managers across the Country. There are also visits to London within the club year, where all club members showcase their work and share best practice. The first club will run from January 2022 to June 2022 on Saturdays, term time. Subsequent clubs will run over a 30-week period, term time. However, there will be additional weeks worked outside of the club timetable, to be involved in club promotion, set up and close down. This will equate to a total number of 29 weeks in the first year and 36 weeks in subsequent years.

About You

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a passion for this subject area in Art & Design, who enjoys working with young people, and who is comfortable in a teaching environment. Ideally, you will have a wide breadth of knowledge and skills across multiple disciplines and confident delivering different subject sessions.

The roles will start immediately in November 2021 and will initially involve promotion of the clubs in local schools. The position is 11 hours week, to include 4 hours on a Saturday and 7 hours during the week for preparation of resources and booking of guest speakers.
