About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Casual Stores Assistantsto join The Academy of Music & Theatre Arts. Reporting to the Stores Manager, the key focus of this role is to provide support to students who are seeking to loan equipment, the safe and appropriate storage of technical equipment, accurate and timely data input into the SISO booking system and ensuring that the technical stores area is kept tidy and well maintained.

You will be also be required to provide set up, maintenance, testing and demonstrations to students, teaching and research staff as well as external customers.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who has experience of working within a client facing environment. You will be a customer focussed individual with excellent communication skills, key to this role is the ability to engage with students. Alongside these key skills you will also have a flexible approach towards working hours.

We would like to hear from you if you have the following skills/experience:
  • An up-to-date knowledge of a wide range of technical equipment used with the technical area of the School
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and within a team
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all users of the technical stores area
  • Attention to detail to keep the equipment in perfect working order
The Stores are open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 22.00pm and Saturdays 9.00am to 17.00pm. This position will be working on a casual basis including evening and Saturday shifts to cover the store opening hours.
