National Sales Manager – Gastro (2
ndline Manager role)

  • This is a field based position requiring flexibility to travel across the UK as well as attending regular meetings with in the head office.
  • This role will report directly into the Business Unit Manager, Gastro

Purpose Statement:

The mission of the National Sales Manager, Gastroenterology is to build an industry leading sales force (incl. Account Specialists and Regional Managers) to launch and drive faster patient access to our Gastro portfolio.


Highlighted Responsibilities:

  • Drive National Brand Performance
    • Deliver sales performance and brand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to meet or exceed national sales plan within expense budgets.
  • Ensure Launch & Operational excellence
    • Design optimal field force structure and recruit high performing diverse team to deliver launch success for two brands with multiple indications
    • By leading, developing and coaching team performance including setting sales targets and incentive schemes, managing Sales Force Management Systems and KPIs in order to continuously improve national sales performance.
    • Ensure regular on Sales Team performance updates are created and reported to regularly assess launch performance.
  • As a key member of the Brand Team;
    • As a core member of the leadership team, proactively collaborative the wider brand team and be a day to day partner to the Marketing, Market Access and Medical teams.
    • Influence competitive national strategy using high quality insights gained from the infield team
    • Ensure national priorities and tactics are implemented locally through your team, in order to optimise strategic momentum and drive brand success.

    • Proactively and continuously aspire to serve key stakeholder needs, expectations and challenges in order to build trusted key stakeholder relationships and to achieve win-win agreements on a continuous basis.
  • People
    • Ensure that the management team are delivering high quality performance management and personal development of their sales teams
    • Ensure a motivational and performance driven team culture, ensure that the AbbVie leadership attributes are strengthened within the team, contributing positively to the overall AbbVie culture

Qualifications


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous 2nd line leadership experience preferred.
  • Gastro/Immunology experience would be ideal.
  • Excellent working knowledge of healthcare environment and evolving landscape.
  • Experience of in field team design and build in preparation for launch.
  • Understanding of National, regional and local decision-making processes for High Cost Drugs at different stages of their lifecycle.
  • Operates, leads and facilitates effectively in a matrix organization/environment.
  • Proven track record of having achieved extraordinary business results or experience and/or leading new product launches.
