The Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee (WHSSC) was established on 1st April 2010 and will undertake the joint planning of Specialised and Tertiary Services on behalf of the 7 Local Health Boards.The post holder will work as part of the Welsh Kidney Network (WKN) which is a non-statutory body which obtains it authority and responsibility as delegated by WHSSC and will be pivotal in representing the interests and leading on the continual development of the kidney care nursing workforce across Wales. As such the post holder has a fundamental role in developing relationships and improving communications across and within the provider Health Boards.The post holder will provide nursing leadership and expert nursing advice within the kidney care services, and will work closely with the Director of Nursing, WHSSC to provide assurance that a high standard of patient care is consistently and equitably deliveredThe post holder will have knowledge of administrative procedures including IT systems.We welcome applications from enthusiastic, committed individuals who are dedicated team players and have demonstrable supporting skills and experience to enable them to undertake this very important role. Covering the specialist renal services of transplantation, dialysis and access surgery, ensuring the agreed quality and clinical standards including those set by the Welsh Government Renal Delivery Plan, WKN National Service Specifications, the UK Renal Association, UK Renal Registry, National Institute for Health Care Excellence.The post holder will have line manager responsibility for 3 regional quality improvement nurses and the Nurse Clinical Lead for peer review ensuring that objectives of these roles are met in accordance with their respective job descriptions and WKN Board expectations.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family.
