The University of Sunderland prides itself on sector-leading digital content
distribution across both the website, social media and third parties.
Supporting the Digital Content Manager the role will be responsible for
collaborating with the wider External Relations team to develop digital
content across the University’s digital output. They will manage, plan and
strategise multimedia content that aligns with the Digital Content Team’s
overall aims and objectives and ensures deadlines are met.
The role will align to developing the University of Sunderland’s digital
presence and recruitment strategy.
The role will include the line management of two Video Producers and will
report to the Digital Content Manager.
Key
Responsibilities
and
Accountabilities:
- To create and maintain a strong digital presence for the University
- Plan, coordinate, analyse and evaluate multimedia projects
- Keep up-to-date and implement industry trends and best multimedia
students and stakeholders
- Work with the Digital Content Manager to develop multimedia
with the wider External Relations team.
- Improve the production, collection, storage and implementation of
videos, animations, etc
- Plan, schedule and manage effective and interesting multimedia
polls and live videos
- Ensure brand consistency in all multimedia.
- Work with the Digital Content Manager to implement a channel
- Research digital marketing trends and tactics to keep our campaigns

- Qualifications and Professional Memberships:
•Significant relevant professional experience within a similar role
Knowledge and Experience:
•Demonstrable experience of delivering a multimedia campaign
strategy
•Demonstrable understanding of the key role video and podcasting
plays in digital content for various channels
•Current and proven experience in a digital content related role
•Demonstrable experience of best digital practice and expertise in
video editing and production
•Excellent co-ordination skills
•Experience of working on digital projects
•Working across a business with multiple stakeholders
•Awareness of the legal aspects of website development, including
fresh and evolving.
- Ensure all multimedia content is accessible
- Line manage the Video Producers, helping to plan video production
effectively
- Review and sign off video drafts prior to external publication
- Manage the video content plan, ensuring key products and
- Work with the Campaigns team to ensure digital content is produced

- Implement and manage a video briefing strategy, create content
insights and trends
- Collate and use GA4, Sprout Social and peer comparison tools,
engagement and impact.
- Undertake and support staff development as appropriate
- Work with key stakeholders such as home and international student
- Work alongside the Digital Content Producers to produce multimedia
- Provide reports for Digital Content Manager using appropriate
- Act up as cover for the Digital Content Manager when necessary
- Undertake and support staff development as appropriate
- All staff across the Service are required to be flexible to support the

- Ensure video shoot locations have proper consent and risk
Special

Occasional travel and out of hours work, particularly for monitoring social

•Expertise in using the following software: Premier Pro, After Effects,
Audition
•Expertise in using industry-standard digital video, audio, and lighting
equipment
•Ability to trouble-shoot and resolve any technical issues with kit or
software
•Good knowledge of video marketing best practice
