We have an opportunity for you to join AXA as a Motor Claims Engineer based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Our specialist Motor Engineering team provides technical expertise to our Motor Claims Department, customers and brokers for the management and control of motor damage spend and theft insurance claims. You will be instrumental in delivering this along with the Motor Claims Department by undertaking remote vehicle inspections and investigate, value and settle motor theft claims.

The AXA Engineering department is a diverse team of people who strongly believe in a positive and collective purpose, development and sharing knowledge is top priority so you will feel part of a supportive team for sure. Working a 35 hour week, Monday to Friday, you will use a variety of sources, from written reports, data, computerised vehicle damage estimating systems and digital imaging in the assessment of vehicle damage and loss claims. Qualifications

  • Experienced in assessing damage and repair estimates to all types of motor vehicles, preferably in relation motor insurance claims.
  • Experience as an Insurance Motor Engineer assessor and / or vehicle body repair including damage estimating, repair cost negotiation and vehicle valuation is essential.
  • Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) for Vehicle Damage Assessment is an essential requirement.
  • Incorporated membership of the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors (IAEA), desirable, but not essential.
  • ONC/HNC/NVQ or City and Guilds Full Technical Certificate (or equivalent) gained in an association with a recognised motor industry training or apprenticeship programme. This is desirable, but not essential.
  • Conversant with computerised vehicle damage assessment systems as used by garages / vehicle repairers.
  • Expert user of Audatex computerised vehicle damage assessment system and CAP valuation software.
  • Conversant with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation and ethical behaviour.
  • Ability to act on own initiative, prioritise work, plan and manage own work activities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good financial and commercial acumen.
