Please note, there is flexibility for this role to be based from home with 1/2 days per week needed at our offices in Normanton for continuity and team blend purposes. Some travel to other Yorkshire Water sites will also be needed on, therefore a full Driving Licence is needed for this role

Purpose of the role

Yorkshire Water are currently recruiting for a Mitigation Solutions Specialist, a role that is pivotal in the delivery of successful projects to continue the growth of our Foxbridge Logistics centre and its continued support to service delivery. You will be accountable to the Logistics Operation Manager and will be responsible for managing a team of six in the coordination and installation function.

The role will scope plan and deliver technical pumping systems and be responsible for expanding the engineering services at Foxbridge through pro-active engineering solutions. It will be predominately focused on changing YW’s approach to compliance and pollution mitigation across the business and developing tailored solutions in relation pollution risk management.

The role will require you to use your extensive experience of wastewater processes to project manage and develop solutions to reduce our risks on sites across the Yorkshire region.

Key Accountabilities

Some of the key responsibilities you will have will include but are not limited to:
  • Understand and develop complex mitigation plans/solutions for risks.
  • Ensure solutions are developed, delivered, and implemented within all the guidelines of the technical requirements.
  • Ensure actions for other YW teams are progressed in line with the agreed solution
  • Develop effective relationships with internal teams to understand their specific requirements and improve operating efficiency to support their needs
  • Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with external stakeholders around risk solutions i.e. contract partners, local authorities, and the Environmental Agency
  • Confidently communicate and report on your key finding in relation to the mitigation cycle.
  • Establish and develop management reports on mitigation risks and solutions. Updating through mitigation solution development and implementation.
  • Develop and execute implementation plans including the securing of funding, where appropriate, and development of agreed action plans for implementation.
  • Work with the leadership team to understand financial profiles and risks areas and contribute to altering of priorities accordingly.
  • Identifying opportunity and making a positive contribution to stock holding profiles.
Essential

Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Qualified to C&G L1-3/HNC/Degree In mechanical or electrical disciplines or both or Degree standard in Engineering.
  • You will possess strong CAD skills with commercial project management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of pumping solutions for diesel applications, fixed electrical applications (surface mounted, dry well and submersible), power generations and requirement based on application
  • Knowledge of dynamic losses within an application.
  • Extensive pumping process experience, solutions and associated terminology.
  • Able to establish timely and efficient mitigation solutions maintaining engineering standards and commercial value under pressure. Efficiently cope with site pressure for resolution to issues.
  • Working autonomously to establish effective management metrics that allow pressure management and create timely programmes of scheduled work that align to risk levels.
  • Ability to cope well under pressure and prioritise upcoming work
  • (Possibly) Ability to own, manage and plan numerous projects that may span multiple stakeholders, locations, and treatment types continuously.
  • To be able to plan and deliver large projects with several customers.
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills
  • Familiar with SAP S4 or equivalent
  • Experience with IT Inventory and Monitoring Systems.
Desirable
  • Water / waste industry experience
  • Pump background and/or associated water process equipment repair/service experience.
  • Previous experience working in an engineering function in water or waste sector or broader utilities sector.
  • Experience of managing projects from start to finish using multiple methodologies
  • Proven track record of implementing mitigation in a variety of situations and environments.
  • Previous experience in hands on engineering repair, installation or service within the mentioned fields.
