Migrations Manager
Please note: This is a 24-month fixed-term contract, which may become permanent.
The role
As the Migrations Manager here at TalkTalk, you’ll be accountable for the management, delivery and continual improvement of the migrations service and the overall effective project management of the resource and performance of the department, as a key part of TalkTalk’s Copper-to-Fibre (CtF) programme.
TalkTalk’s Copper-to-Fibre Programme is a multi-year initiative targeting significant cost savings for the company and service improvement for our customers by optimising our exchange network and migrating our base onto newer, more reliable products.
To be successful in the role of Migrations Manager, you’ll demonstrate strong project management skills, be self-motivated and display the ability to produce results in line with the agreed business strategy.
The team
The Migrations Team in the Data and Automation function provides a bulk service for network-led customer migrations, package migrations and ownership changes, managing demand, designing the approach to complex migrations, planning and scheduling and executing the placement of orders to a negotiated timetable.
The Copper-to-Fibre Migrations team has been formed alongside the current team to provide the Programme with the scale and focus required to achieve targets year-on-year, as well as develop a prototype for the evolution of the migration function within the TalkTalk business.
As the Migrations Manager, you’ll maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, providing effective project delivery of migrations to achieve strategic goals of Direct and TTB Wholesale business units.
Your responsibilities
  • You’ll be a senior lead and the single point of accountability for the coordination of demand management, assessment, forecasting, scheduling, reporting and execution of migrations for the CtF programme.
  • Managing the execution of migrations through an external team of Migrations Delivery Managers, you’ll report on CtF demand and fulfilment to the Programme and senior stakeholders.
  • You’ll optimise demand across team capacity, prioritising with key business decision-makers and with the wider BAU migrations portfolio and ensure efficiency, consistent design and approaches to migrations, with appropriate tooling and automation development.
  • Developing and evolving the migrations capability and operating model in line with CtF scale and requirements, you’ll promote a commercial outcome-based model so that migrations execution capacity can be scaled up and down efficiently and cost-effectively as required by the programme.
  • You’ll ensure security and data compliance and adherence to architecture standards through documented processes and clear team accountabilities, whilst collaborating with business-wide groups to provide a customer focussed approach and minimising the impacts on back-end systems.
