Midwifery Practice Education Facilitator, up to 15 hours per week, fixed term. Band 7. This post involves cross site working.

Provide woman-centred, safe, effective and compassionate midwifery care for women and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods. Work autonomously to support all women with their birth choices, recognising when input from Obstetricians and other health professionals is needed and referring appropriately. Practice in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality midwifery learning environments and will be required to work locally within services and organisations. The post holder will be required to support the breadth of the student experience, which may require cross boundary working.

Responsibility for managing and coordinating practice education

Supports compliance with Health Education Englands Quality Framework

Identify shortfalls in practice educators across midwifery learning environments, and facilitate access to multi-professional educator programmes/ updates and training

Provide best practice advice and support in clinical settings for educators and staff in relation to education in

Implement and/or develop evidence based approaches to practice based learning CLiP, coaching approach, triad models

Support Educators with complex decision making regarding student assessment

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.80 = £30.80. Deducted at £9.80 from 1st month salary and £7 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.80 = £48.80. Deducted at £15.80 from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
