This position will support, lead, manage and motivate individual product merchandising teams to provide a cohesive single view to Senior Leadership; to provide an overall view of trading actions in order to drive sales and manage margin whilst keeping in line with seasonal terminal targets.

Responsibilities:

Planning :-

  • To provide Merchandising teams with seasonal buying guidance to guide sales, stock, markdown, margin & OTB.
  • Ensure product ranges are balanced, commercial and developed in line with agreed financial parameters.
  • Management and communication of availability across all departments both seasonal & essentials

Trading :-

  • Produce a seasonal overview of performance vs sales, margin, markdown and terminal stock budgets.
  • Review trade & trade actions with all departments & provide weekly trade summary to wider business.
  • Management & communication of the promotional markdown calendar to drive sales and traction across all channels.
  • Overview & summary of departmental WSSIs to Chief Product Officer.
  • Management of core product teams ensuring smooth day to day running of teams & processes.
  • Partnership with Inventory Manager to manage terminal stock and communicate any risk Senior Team.
  • Work alongside Inventory Manager to identify opportunity within stores using linear counts & analysis.
  • Management of Critical Path alongside HOB to give teams guidance & also to help identify areas of supplier opportunity in regards to production planning.

Other :-

  • Build & maintain relationships with other departments across the business.
  • Communicate risk to deadlines to Senior Merchandising Manager and Trading Director

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

Essential –

  • Prior experience of working at Merchandiser level
  • Must have held responsibility for planning and trading departments.
  • Can display sound commercial judgement and experienced in making profit related decisions.
  • Has a flair for spotting opportunities whilst managing risk to stock, sales and profit.
  • Needs strong people management skills.
  • Ability to manage heavy workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to drive & motivate a team.
  • Strong interest in fashion/retail industry
  • Be flexible, enthusiastic, confident and proactive.

Desirable –

  • Experienced in multi channel retailing.
  • Management skills required.
  • Team Motivator
  • Enjoy working in a small/medium sized company.
  • Advanced excel skills.
