What We Do

The Learner Experience Department at Keighley College are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivational Attendance and Progress Mentor to join the Pastoral Support team. The team work across a range of vocational departments supporting students on their learner journey, overcoming barriers to achieve success

What You Will Do

Work with teaching staff to support the achievement of excellent outcomes for each student

Support vocational departments with learners identified as "At Risk" of leaving their study programme and achieving their potential Monitor and track learner attendance

Identifying barriers to learning and supporting interventions for learner progress.

Give extra encouragement, coaching and pastoral support to all students inside and outside the classroom

Deliver 1:1 tutorials for a caseload of students, monitoring performance and setting SMART targets to ensure students succeed

YOUR PROFILE

You will have experience of working with disengaged / disadvantaged young people in an educational setting.

You will be familiar with multi agency working across teams and departments (internal and external) to best support young people.

You will have knowledge and understanding of barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team based environment.

Good general education at Level 2 or equivalent including literacy & numeracy at Level 2.

Experience

of working with schools, parents and external support agencies.
