  • As a Medical Laboratory Technician at IDEXX within our Heamatology department, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. You will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets across the UK.     In This Role

  • You will be using automated analyzers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.
  • You will be performing diagnostic tests on blood samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day.
  • You will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests, reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

  • Heamatology

    Testing cell-related components of blood samples to enumerate and identify their cellular components, including microscopic evaluation of blood smears and the use of automated and manual counting techniques. Other techniques involved in this area are smear preparation, the usage and maintenance of the Haematology analysers and serology testing.

     What You Will Need To Succeed

  • You are a go-getter, a hard worker, and someone with a passion for science, innovation, and the opportunity to work on behalf of global pet health.
  • Ideally, you will have experience working in a laboratory. Experience setting up, running and reading lab test and operating laboratory equipment (microscopes and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers) would be a plus.
  • You will have a BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent.

  • Schedule: 

  • This is a full time (37.5 hr/wk) working Tuesday – Saturday, starting time varies between 6am and 8am
  • Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
