Summary of the Role

The Media Supervisor will support the Senior Media Manager in driving exemplary media planning across the business, and ensuring the media agency are best positioned to deliver for TWDC (The Walt Disney Company). This involves building trust with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business, with a particular focus on the UK and regional teams based in London.

They will demonstrate an exceptional level of cross media expertise and be a pivotal role within the paid media team, advising on strategy, planning and trading in conjunction with the media agency and the Senior Media Manager. They’ll be a crucial part of maintaining an effective agency relationship, and of driving a forward-facing media agenda.

Managing media investment oversight with the agency, they will ensure the delivery of accurate, actionable analysis, and a single source of truth.

The Opportunity & Responsibilities

Studios Content

  • Support Senior Media Manager in day-to-day media consultancy to brand teams, working as an expert in the field, feeding into briefs, responses, optimisations and evaluations
  • Compile relevant media information for input into wider marketing documents and presentations
  • Look for opportunities to improve planning and operational processes, problem solving where needed
  • Provide specialist media input on broader marketing documents as required, working with the UK and EMEA marketing teams

CPGP (Consumer Products, Games and Publishing)

  • Work as media lead on the annual CPGP Christmas campaign, providing expertise on the paid campaign, supporting the EMEA marketing team.

Disney 100

  • Support this company-wide 2023 initiative to celebrate Disney’s centenary as the central media point person, providing expertise and advice to the D100 EMEA marketing team

Integrated Media, EMEA and UK (All Lines of Business)

  • Socialise, share and implement long term media deal/buy proposals, supported by Senior Media Manager
  • Consolidation and reporting of media activity and spend with our media agency, ensuring accurate and easily digestible media analysis
  • Ensure appropriate media insights are being fed into campaign approaches
  • Ensure existing media processes are adhered to, and improvements and efficiencies sought and implemented where possible - e.g. working with the media agency to automate
  • Identify trends and subsequent opportunities in media spend or strategy across TWDC
  • Build and maintain relationships with UK media owners.
  • Support development of Line of Business sharing approach and ensure transparency across the company of media approaches, challenges and insights.
  • Support Senior Media Manager on delivery and refinement of the media agency service across the business
  • Build strong and effective relationships with key agency stakeholders

Media intern

  • Responsibility for ongoing management and development of the team intern, and hiring annually

  • Expected to attend industry conferences and events and have up to date knowledge of UK and EMEA media, consumer and technology landscapes
  • Regular attendance at Media Agency to ensure consistent understanding between agency and TWDC businesses

The Experience We Require from You

  • Significant cross-media experience at media agency or in a media function client-side, with UK experience essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the EMEA/UK media landscape with ability to talk with authority and diplomatically to marketing teams from across the business
  • Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business
  • Experience of managing agencies effectively
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority, quickly building trust and credibility
  • Understanding of the competitive environment in the entertainment industry
  • Must be collaborative and insight-driven, able to bring a rationalised approach to challenges
