An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader / Supervisor to join a market leader in their industry based in Thatcham.



THE ROLE




As a qualified mechanical engineer you will carry out a supervisory and coordination role taking full responsibility for the engineering within your specified production area. Around 40% of your role will require your hands-on skills and abilities on the tools.



Your primary objective will be to ensure the availability of equipment and plant for completion of production orders. Running a team of around 5 engineers you will take responsibility for:-






  • Planning of work


  • Prioritisation of breakdowns, planned maintenance and improvement works.


  • Shutdown planning (including involvement with procurement of services, materials, labour etc)


  • H&S including safety audits and Risk assessment / method statements.


  • Contractor management


  • Team training and development





This is primarily a day shift role covering Monday to Friday however flexibility will be needed to cover on the Panama (3’&2’s / 12 hrs / Days + Nights) pattern the engineers work (as required).







THE CANDIDATE:




  • You must have formal mechanical qualifications equivalent to an Apprenticeship / ONC / HNC/ Degree etc.


  • Relevant supervisory and hands-on experience working within a manufacturing environment and automated or process production.


  • Good IT skills for reporting and Knowledge of working with resource planning software (SAP in this case but any will be considered





BENEFITS:



Salary: £39,500 + 12% increase when shift working



25 days + Bank Hols



Contributory Pension (Up to 10% contribution)



Death-in-Service (8 x Salary)




This position would suit candidates with the previous titles of; Supervisor, Team Leader, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Charge-Hand, Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, Engineering Coordinator.
